Tell David what you're imaginingTHE MAN BEHIND THE MAKER'S MARK
David Miller has always been a man who works with his hands, but his story has never been just about the things he can build. It is about faith, family, hard work, creativity, and the legacy he hopes to leave behind.
David's love for leather began when he was just eight years old, participating in 4-H. What started as a childhood interest grew into a lifelong passion for working with leather, creating art, and bringing ideas to life. He loves history, art, learning new skills, and the satisfaction of making something with his own two hands.
David and his wife have been married for 29 years. Through hardship, bankruptcy, sickness, and seasons that tested everything they had, they continued standing together. David is a father of three and a grandfather of five. Family has always come first, and his hope is to leave them a legacy worth something.
“The love I have for Jesus is the same I have for my family.”
That is how David describes the heart of what matters most to him. His faith and his family are at the center of his life, and that love is reflected in the care he puts into the things he creates.
David spent decades as a professional butcher. In 2009, a serious accident on the kill floor led to a lasting health battle with recurring cellulitis flare-ups. After a lifetime of physically demanding work, his body could no longer keep up with the career he had known. Retirement brought him back to his first love: leathercraft.
Back to leather. Back to art. Back to the work he loved as a boy.
David hand-stitches his work and designs his own patterns. One of his favorite parts is collaborating with customers—starting with their ideas, sketching possibilities, and shaping a custom design together. You bring the imagination. David brings the experience, creativity, and hands to bring it to life.
David is a man of many talents, with a love for cooking, music, art, history, and learning. Today, leathercraft gives him a special way to keep creating and to leave something tangible behind for the people he loves.
He may have retired from his life's work, but he never retired from being a craftsman.
